In January 2018, I decided to go out on my own and start my own wedding and event planing business.  It was scary, and despite being in the hospitality industry for nearly 15 years, I wasn’t entirely sure who my ideal client was.

However I did know that I needed some incredible images to show the world what I could do, and what I was about.  Fast forward 8 months, the website was being built, I was drumming up hype and my very first styled photoshoot was underway.

The only thing I knew is that I wanted to be different. There were a lot of other event and wedding planning businesses out there who were all doing the same cookie cutter kind of thing, and I wanted to go against the grain. Black. And lots of it.  Even today I still try to incorporate a little bit of black into my work because to me, it signifies luxury, and it’s actually what I’m known for.

By chance I found the incredible dark and moody jazz bar Duke of George that had just opened, and I set to work creating something that would set me apart.

I absolutely love balancing the old and the new, and this old brush and broom factory backdrop, with black glossy tables dripping with pink and gold was just the ticket.

Crystal Glassware

Nothing quite says elegance like beautiful crystal glassware.  Classic and timeless, cut crystal is definitely not going anywhere anytime soon and I just love drinking my Friday night gin and tonic out of mine!

Black Taper Candles

It is no secret that event planning professionals will use professional drip less candles – less cleaning! – but you can get the look with these stunning black taper candles from Dusk. Add that bit of luxe to your dining room table.

Pink Moet

It’s not a party without champers! And these gorgeous little Moet piccolos are so cute for a little gettogethers especially if you don’t want to drink that much!

Top Dup Donuts

Not everyone like cake. I mean we have to seriously assess our friendship with those people…but I love how couples are starting to thinkof different sweet things for their guests, whether they be instead of cake or they be favours or gifts.  The branding or monogramming options are endless as well!

These mouth watering donuts from Top Dup are actually near my house…very dangerous!

Blush Napkins

I absolutely love how coloured napkins can elevate a tablescape and these blush pink linen napkins have such a beautiful texture.  I also love how they fall on the plate in the very popular knot tie.

What do you think of this luxe table set up? You can certainly do this yourself at home but if you want it without the hassle, I’m only an email away!
